What is the PLATZproject?

In erster Linie ein Experiment! Der PLATZ dient als Beteiligungsstruktur für junge Menschen, die in einem selbstorganisierten Raum über ihre Stadt diskutieren und sie vor allem aktiv mitgestalten möchten. Das bedeutet: Keiner weiß so richtig, wie das aussieht und was am Ende dabei rauskommt. Deshalb ist es wichtig zu begreifen, dass dieser Leitfaden kein festes Regelwerk darstellt, sondern vielmehr einen ersten Entwurf, der mit zunehmender Dauer des Projektes angepasst und je nach Lage verändert werden wird.

Übergeordnetes Ziel ist es, Raum für Projekte/Ideen zur Verfügung zu stellen, die unter normalen Bedingungen nicht in der Stadt umsetzbar wären – und somit den Bedarf für solche Flächen aufzuzeigen. Außerdem wird versucht, den Weg von der Idee zur Realisierung so unkompliziert, unbürokratisch und einfach wie möglich zu gestalten um Hindernisse, die einer Realisierung in der Welt außerhalb des PLATZES im Weg stehen, so gut wie möglich abzubauen.

First and foremost an experiment! The PLATZ serves as a participation structure for young people who would like to discuss their city in a self-organized space and above all actively help shape it. This means that no one really knows what it looks like and what the end result will be. It is therefore important to understand that this guideline is not a fixed set of rules, but rather a first draft that will be adapted as the project progresses and changed depending on the situation.

The overriding goal is to provide space for projects/ideas that could not be implemented in the city under normal conditions – and thus to show the need for such areas. In addition, it is tried to make the way from the idea to the realization as uncomplicated, unbureaucratic and simple as possible in order to reduce obstacles that stand in the way of a realization in the world outside the PLATZES as well as possible.

Who is the PLATZ?

Ursprünglich das Liebeskind einer kreativen Zelle innerhalb des 2er Skateboarding e.V., wurde das Konzept bereits im September 2013 erarbeitet. Seit dem offiziellen Startschuss Anfang 2014 wächst das Geflecht um das PLATZprojekt jedoch stetig weiter. Mit Skateboarding hat das Projekt zwar schon lange nichts mehr zu tun, der Do-It-Yourself-Ansatz ist aber stilprägend geblieben.

Originally the love child of a creative cell within the 2er Skateboarding e.V., the concept was already developed in September 2013. Since the official starting signal at the beginning of 2014, however, the network around the PLATZ project has continued to grow steadily. Although the project hasn’t had anything to do with skateboarding for a long time, the Do It Yourself approach has remained stylistically influential.

Wo kommt das Geld her?

Where does the money comes from?

Das Geld wurde im Rahmen des Forschungsfeldes „Jugend.Stadt.Labor“ vom Bundesministerium für Experimentellen Wohnungs- und Städtebau (ExWoSt) bereitgestellt. Damit ist das PLATZprojekt offiziell vor allem ein Forschungsvorhaben im Bereich „Experimentelle Stadtentwicklung“. Hier findet ihr die Publikation zum herunterladen: Download PDF

The money was provided by the Federal Ministry for Experimental Housing and Urban Development (ExWoSt) as part of the „Youth City Laboratory“ research field.
